We're heading back to Canberra for DrupalSouth Community Day on Thursday 19 November 2026, and this year we're bringing two talks. Both tackle the same question from different sides: how do you get more out of a shared Drupal platform without adding more work for the people who run it?
Matt Commons is showing how editors can build immersive, on-brand pages with no code. Andrey Simonov is walking through how we use Convivial and Drupal Recipes to spin up repeatable showcase sites from a fresh install.
Presentations
Give editors the keys: immersive design, no code required
Content teams shouldn't need a developer every time they want a page to feel different. In this talk, Matt Commons shows how editors can layer patterns, textures, overlays, and fonts inside components, use grids as flexible controls, and build campaign-specific colour skins with dark mode built in.
When: Thursday 19 November 2026
Time: 2.15pm to 2.45pm
Track: Non-technical
Composition over maintenance: building repeatable Drupal showcases with Convivial and Recipes
Andrey Simonov presents a different approach. Each solution is defined as a set of composable Drupal Recipes that package the content model, configuration, branding, navigation, search, and realistic demo content. Apply them to a fresh install, and you get a working site, whether that's a public library, local council, health clinic, or university.
When: Thursday 19 November 2026
Time: 11.20am to 11.50am
Track: Non-technical
